One of the biggest things for NYC kids in the 80s was name belts. In 1994, Omar Credle better known as O.C. released his critically acclaimed seminal classic debut album "Word... Life", which featured his most memorable song "Time's Up". That track was one of the first offensive attacks on the fake and phony fronting that was starting to seep into Hip Hop at the time. This tee pays tribute to that enduring sentiment with a large and bold all-caps front print that reads TIMES UP and a back quote embedded in an Enstrumental logo that quotes O.C. with these words: "I'm fed up with the bull. On this focus on weed & clips & glocks getting cocked and wax not being flipped. It's the same old, same old." by Enstrumental

So the story goes like this: REVOK went out to Australia for a graffiti show and when the show fell through, he decided to go on his own little painting rampage Down Under, doing over $20,000 of beautification damage to Melbourne's walls. Unfortunately for REVOK, his tweeting of his activities lead the authorities onto his path and they caught up with him at the airport just as he was about to board his plane and make his great escape. REVOK was arrested and upon his release Australian reporters caught up with him and taped his bemused and comical reaction to the arrest. The video went viral all over the internet and still gets thousands of views daily. The news report headlined the story "VANDAL VACATION" and REVOK was rocking shades like the ones on the front of this tee throughout the interview. The back print appropriately features a "REVOKED" stamp over the the artists' Australian visa and a tagged rendition of his tongue-in-cheek apology to reporters that day, "Very Remorseful". This tee is very limited, so get on it quick!! by The Seventh Letter

I often want to tell people to keep their s#!t together, but I'm a grown man now and should refrain from such low brow profanity... so I'll go the 101 Apparel route and use "Keep Your Soul Together" instead. If you don't know, that phrase is from Freddi Hubbard's 1973 landmark record that featured some of the thickest basslines ever heard at that point, and since sampled by everyone from Del to Mr. Dibbs. Keeping in line with Mr. Hubbard himslef, this graphic features a trumpet placed amongst lettering that was inspired by the music and the era. Fela Kuti pioneered Afro-Beat, a sound that combined political oppression, ancient African polyrhythms and American Funk. Lagos, the capital of Nigeria became ground zero for this sound as many were fed up with the oppressive practices of their totalitarian government and decided to start bands and play music as a form of rebellion. The music from Lagos at that time was funky, filled with a sense of deep longing for better times and translated to some of the freshest sounds to grace our ears.
